The South African Association for Bioethics and Health Law (“SAABHL”) was created in 2024, with the sole purpose of bidding for and ultimately hosting the 2028 World Congress for Medical Law.
The SAABHL is the juristic entity that will take
responsibility for the planning of the Congress, enter into relevant contracts with service providers (and the WAML, to the extent required), and be accountable to stake holders, including but not limited to the WAML.
The members of the SAABHL are:
Neil Kirby
Dr. Alistair McAlpine
Altair Richards and
Howard Snoyman
All of whom are also members of the Local Organizing Committee, introduced below. The SAABHL is domiciled at Werksmans Attorneys, the firm at which Neil Kirby practices.
