Mr. Howard Snoymanis an admitted attorney and ethicist, employed as the Head of Legal and Ethics at Discovery Health Medical Scheme, South Africa's largest medical scheme (healthcare insurer). In addition to matters of a legal and ethical nature, his portfolio spans commercial, governance and risk activities of the business.

Howard's qualifications include an LLB and an MSc. Med (Bioethics and Health Law), and he is currently concluding a PhD which examines how the law would need to change to broaden access to healthcare and healthcare insurance in South Africa.

Other non-executive roles include being a Board member of the (aforementioned) Marketing Code Authority with a portfolio encompassing legal, ethics, governance and risk; and being a member of the statutory Committee for Auditor Ethics,at the Independent Regulator for Auditors (“IRBA”).

Howard was recently recognized in the inaugural Legal 500 General Counsel Powerlist, South Africa, 2024. He has also published several peereviewed articles in the International In-House Counsel Journal. Professional certifications include being a Certified Deal Architect (University of Tennessee); Certified Ethics Officer (University of Stellenbosch); and a Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE). Howard has been a member of the World Association for Medical Law since 2011.
